She is gone.

I held her in my arms as she left us this morning. An act of love, an act of kindness, and I feel crushed. She was my little girl and I miss her! Elmo: November 7, 2000 to December 9, 2009.

Bad day tomorrow...

Tomorrow morning, I am having Elmo put down. She is uncomfortable and has stopped eating.

She is a good girl...

Elmo is still hanging in there strong! I can not believe how long she has made it. He cancer is back and it looks really bad. We know she only has a few days left with us but she surprises us all of the time! Will post again and keep posted from here on out! Keep Elmo in your prayers!

Good Days and Bad Days

Nothing is ever certain and written in stone. We have no idea how much longer Elmo will be with us but do know her time is closing short. She has good days for the most part but yesterday
(6-7) was not a good day. she had trouble walking and did not want to eat, drink, or play at all. We had quite the bummer conversation and cried a few tears for Elmo most of the afternoon. We know what is coming and it will be hard to face. We really love this little dog!

As long as she has more days like today, we are not going to make any drastic decisions. Please remember Elmo in your prayers. She has a big fan club and so many people pulling for her!

No New News

We have been on vacation this week spoiling Elmo to the max! She is doing great right now and I have nothing really new to report. You can barely tell she had a major operation. Nothing new from the vet has been added this week. At this point, I think we will let nature do what it is going to do. She is a really happy dog right now and we will continue to help her stay this way!

Stitches Out

Elmo got her stitches out today and I think that must feel so much better! The doctor said they have spoken with an Oncologist in California and they are at a loss about this cancer as well. We do not know what the next step will be for Elmo? Maybe help from a university doing a study on this? Will keep you posted as soon as we know something!

Doing good

Elmo is doing really good after her surgery. I wish there was more to tell at this point. She has a very rare form of cancer and at this point, the vets are not sure about how to proceed with treatment; or if there is anything which can even be done for her. She will get her stitches out on Thursday or Friday; she has healed up really well and is pretty much at full speed now. She is back to chasing bunnies and squirrels and barking at our neighbors dog when they are both outside playing. Keep your well wishes coming because she needs them. She is one happy little dog!
